This project that what inspired me to Build the Wall-E or Johnny 5 Robot but it still the long way to go and because I do not have much time to build this robot because I promised the folk of HAM that i will be ready for the Field day and I only have 2 weeks to put everything together.

As you can see the ARM that made of the Flat LCD monitor stand that used for the Supermarket check out and I found it from the Weird Stuffs for $10 and then I put the motor and it seems to serve the purpose to demo that we can use this Robot for Radio Active Survey by using APRS network to broadcast the data via VHF and I-GATE that we can see it from

Snow-Blower is the source of both Rubber Track.  , Power Drive with WheelChair motor 24 VDC small Battery combine for 24VDC that total weight around 70 lbs  RC 5 Ch 2.4Ghz digital mode sometime lossed signal cause the motor to go full-speed. that what I will need to improve in the future.

Field Day 2012 - Foothills Amateur Radio Society (FARS)

This is my last Fieldday for this Club, I have to handover to the New generation to takecard and they will do much better and bigger that me.

Field day 2012 this year was so cold , windy, morning around 47 and night time 41, I stay up all night just want to get the Sat-com contact but too bad , never made any of that :(

Replaced Motor for KENPRO EL rotor from AC Motor to 24 VDC

 All done, under testing. work well, autostop at both end , I added Diode to reversed and also added the Lamp.
 See how bad the motor, Coil already short and never run.
This is what happen when you buy some ROTOR from EBAY I got this for $88 but I send email to complaint them that it won't work and they never tell so they paid me back $40, which ok for the rest of the part should be.

This is the first year that I decided to paticipate this event, I just realized that so many smart young people and many people have a very good idea. I felt that so happy to be around of involve with other people who think the same way I did about creativity to build something better and more fun without any politic or hidden agenda.  well, not all the good people but I try to ignore some of storeo type anyway i am just Asian man and try to have some fun.  I join to be valunteer for this year and I only have small portion to share my idea and time slot was not full fill my dream to tell people about my idea.  Next year, I already setup my motivation to go solo, even it will hard but i will do that with couple of some of my closed friend back me up.

X-Tinytrack Project - base concept from TRACKUINO * on ARDUINO

*Thank you  to Javier Martin( *Courtesy from who wrote many of the libraries and codes for the APRS tracker.  I will give him most of the credit of my project .  I design PCB as to be used with the regular HT and GPS module from ARGENT DATA $36 very high sensitive indoor still can fixed GPS data.  I was reading made by Javi and I do not know where I can have PCB so then I build it and then here that I have. Arduino is cheap and easy to develop to get the project going fast.

PCB Design base on the *Trackuino Code ( *Courtesy from but have some modification that have to move native serial port to NewSoftserial.h  port , adding GPS connector , Adding LCD and also be able to use the regular HT.  I build PCB just for the min as I want to try out my design and worked . I will redesign again to be able to use . MX-1 (VHF module 144.390 300mW)  email me for the code.

I did write the Code on VB 6 just simple for some HAM who want to use my PCB and did not want to go to Arduino IDE just use GUI to program Callsign, SSID, Symbol connect to this board and PC comm or visual serial port then program to Arduino EPROM. as below:-

1st select Com number then click ok to activate the serial and establish the connection between board and PC then just read from board memory and then edit Write to eprom just simple is that.

I wrote my own code to GPS decode and display on LCD and also included the SMART Beacon reflect to the speed , slow and fast for more freq beacon.

I also tested out the original Trackuino and it worked pretty good with this unit.  original Trackuino used the Radimetrix MX1 $40 but I have many of my HT so that I used my design to work with HT so that can put in to small metal box somewhere.   Nice project,. I guessed
